Ricky Lynn Crookham 65, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in Augusta, Georgia. Born on November 13, 1960, in Kansas City, Kansas, Ricky was the son of the late Gene and Billie Rae Farmer Crookham.
A graduate of Lincoln County High School Class of 1980, Ricky lettered in football and was a guard on the Red Devil Football team during their championship years. His commitment and teamwork on the field reflected qualities he carried throughout his life: steadfastness and heart.
Following high school, Ricky answered the call of duty, serving four years in the United States Navy. Stationed at the 32nd Street Naval Base in San Diego, California, he served aboard the USS Constellation.
After his military service, Ricky transitioned to civilian life with the same diligence, working first for Oliver Rubber and later contributing his talents to Evergreen Packaging. Known to many as a man of few words but with a big heart and a kind personality, he left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.
Ricky’s passions extended well beyond his professional and military endeavors. He was an active participant in the church softball league, enjoyed boating on Lake Thurmond, and was an avid gambler. Harrah's Casino held a special place in his heart, with Baccarat as his favorite game — a place he visited as recently as two weeks prior to his passing.
His survivors include his mother, Billie Ray Crookham, and the mother of his children, Maria Conde. His son, Michael Crookham, along with Michael’s wife, Kory, of San Diego, California, and his daughter, Joanna Gianferrara, together with her husband Kevin of Athens, Georgia. Ricky also leaves behind brothers, Jerry Crookham and his wife Joy of Lincolnton, Johnny Crookham and his wife Carol of Tignall and Kelly Crookham and his wife Christina of Elberton. His grandchild, Aubrey Crookham whom he adored.
Ricky was a man whose presence quietly resonated with those around him. Many remarked fondly how, as he grew older, he increasingly resembled his father.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 20, 2026, at 4 o’clock pm at Beggs Funeral Home Lincolnton. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon beginning at 2pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Beggs Funeral Home Lincolnton is honored to serve the family of Mr. Ricky L. Crookham.
