Rebecca Dudley Fullbright

Sparta, TN – Rebecca Dudley Fullbright passed away on February 2, 2014, at the achingly young age of 34. She was born on August 7, 1979, in Macon, Georgia, to parents Jimmy and Elvie Fullbright. She was the third of three children, delighting her older brother and sister, who remember sneaking into their parents' bedroom to marvel at the sleeping baby in the basinet. Rebecca graduated from Monroe Academy in Forsyth, Georgia, and attended Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, South Carolina. She lived the life of a youngest child, marching to a beat in her heart that only she heard, sometimes to the puzzlement of those around her. She was herself, for better or worse. She loved the culinary arts, a good cup of coffee, loud music and long phone conversations. In 2004, she realized one of her greatest achievements ever: she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Andrew Noel Hixson, who has his mother's bottomless hazel eyes. Two years later, she welcomed her second son, Walter Phillip Hixson, who inherited his mother's fair complexion and playful stubborn streak. As the first-born grandchildren and nephews, they quickly became an indelible part of family life, charming everyone whose paths they crossed. In addition to her children and her parents, she is survived by her sister Nancy Fullbright (Peter Hendy) of Savannah, Georgia; her brother Lee Fullbright (Julie) of Appling, Georgia; a niece, Janie Fullbright of Appling, Georgia; two nephews, W.J. and Levi Fullbright of Appling, Georgia; her aunt and uncle, Faye and Randy Nunn of Mineral Wells, Texas; a cousin, Jennifer Negri (Ivan) of Wolf Creek, Montana; her loyal and longtime friend, Billy Phillips of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and her faithful canine companion, Addie. A service to celebrate Rebecca's life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 12 o'clock noon at the Whiteoak United Methodist Church, 4459 White Oak Rd., Appling, GA 30802. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The visitation will be from 11 until 12 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to an educational trust fund established for Noel and Walter Hixson c/o Queensborough National Bank and Trust, P. O.
