Mr. Ray Jones Hawkins, 81, of Thomson, Georgia entered into rest on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Piedmont McDuffie Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Celia C. Hawkins.

Mr. Ray grew up in Warthen and lived in Thomson most of his life.  He worked in the construction of roads and subdivision development and could operate all types of heavy equipment.  He enjoyed fishing and having fish cookouts with his family.  Mr. Ray was a United States Air Force veteran who proudly served his country.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Celia C. Hawkins;  son, Jason Hawkins (Stacy) of Thomson;  step-sons, Christopher Davis (Allison), of Appling and Joe Davis (Kristi) of Atlanta.;  two sisters, Edna Hinton, of Thomson and Nora Mae Anderson of Warrenton;  his grandchildren, Judson Hawkins (Morgan), Blaine Hawkins, Carson Davis, Collin Davis, Rose Davis, Madeline Davis, Foster Davis and Ivee Davis.

A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Beggs Funeral Home.  A time of Visitation will be held on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
