Ray "Buddy" Edward Quarles, 80, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on October 18, 2021.
Buddy was born in Lexington, Georgia on November 10, 1940, grew up in Lincoln County and later moved to Thomson, Georgia. During his working life, he was employed at Claussen Bakery, Kingsley Mill, Uniroyal, Warrenton Rubber, HealthTex, and he was the retired owner/operator of Lazy Q Mobile Home Setups. Buddy loved horses, riding horses and trail riding. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Union Baptist Church. He loved his friends, family and especially loved his grandchildren.
Mr. Quarles is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Quarles and Maudie Ashmore Quarles. His survivors include his, loving wife of 37 years, Mary Quarles; his sons, Kevin Quarles (Sonya) of Dearing, Kirk Quarles (Sandy) of Warrenton and Robert Quarles of Pennsylvania; his step-son, Thomas Waits of Thomson; his brothers, Richard Quarles of Martinez, Cliatt Quarles of Dearing, Stanley Quarles of Detroit, Leon Quarles of Thomson and Jerry Quarles of Lincolnton; his sister, Moralle McKenzie of Lincolnton and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia. No Memorial Service is being held at this time. Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family's personal guestbook.
The family will be observing social distancing, and masks are requested and appreciated. Due to the current national health concern, the family would appreciate phone calls, cards, texts, and e-mails.
