Randall Douglas Hardaway

Evans, GA - Mr. Randall Douglas Hardaway, 88, entered into rest on Friday, June 16, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Pat McGee Hardaway, former Probate Judge of Columbia County.  While we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he & Mom are dancing again, without his crutches!

Born on December 31, 1934 in Lincoln County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Bessie Studdard Hardaway and Guy Hinton Hardaway.  He attended the Academy of Richmond County, where he was in the ROTC program.  After his father was killed in World War II, he followed in the footsteps of his stepfather Cliff Hardaway into the transportation industry, starting as a rate clerk, then salesman, before becoming terminal manager for several trucking companies in the Southeast, & finally retiring in 1994 as terminal manager of Watkins Motor Lines.  In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family and was an avid outdoorsman; and was the founding member of Pine-knot hunting club.

He is survived by his daughters: Pam H Postell & Penny (Maury) Saggus; Granddaughters: Amie (David) Redd & Ashlee (Thomas) Vaiden; two Great Grandsons: Gunner Hardaway Vaiden & Maverick Redd; & his sister-in-law Loretta M Nelson of Kentucky.  He was preceded in death by his brother, JD Hardaway.

A private family graveside service was held on Father's Day, Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Greenwood Baptist Church in Lincolnton, Ga.  Pallbearers were nephews: Cliff Hardaway, Mike Hardaway, & Lil' Jim McGee; Greg McLeod, Stan Swift, Tyler Swift, Ricky Huffman, Thomas Vaiden & David Redd.
