Randall "Randy" Griffith Power

Mr. Randall Griffith Power, known affectionately as Randy, departed this life on September 24, 2024, at the age of 67. In Clarke County, Georgia, he was born to the late James Aubrey and Willie Ruth Chandler Power on June 21, 1957, but he grew up in Oglethorpe County.

Randy was a graduate of Oglethorpe County High School, class of 1975. He was employed by Certainteed in quality control for 30 years and had also attended technical school, where he honed his skills and emerged as a licensed certified HVAC technician.

Those who knew Randy best will remember him as a good old country boy, a man whose hands were as skilled as his heart was kind. He had a natural talent for tinkering, often found repairing or improving something around the house or helping a neighbor in need.

Randy's legacy is carried on by his loving family. He is survived by his two sons, Jason and Brendon Power, his brother, Guy Power (Jean), and his sister, Grace Norman (Tony), his sister-in-law, Lisa Power, three grandchildren and one great grandchild who will miss his gentle spirit and unwavering support. Randy's brother, Mike Power, predeceased him, as well as his parents. Randy's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, yet they take comfort in the memories he leaves behind. His life was a portrait of dedication, kindness, and the simple joys of country living. His influence will continue to be felt in the lessons he taught, the lives he touched, and the laughter he shared. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Mr. Randall Griffith Power will be deeply missed, but the legacy of his love and the imprint of his hands on the world around him will remain as a comforting reminder of the man who was, and always will be, a father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

A funeral is planned for Friday, September 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Athens Memory Gardens.
