Ramona Derry

Ramona Frances Derry, 79, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest early Saturday morning, June 11, 2022, after a brief bout with cancer.  She was born in 1943, in Macon, Georgia to her parents, Mary Frances and Christian Frederick Nielsen.

Ramona was a 1961 graduate of Mt. Rainier High School in Des Moines, Washington and studied business at Skagit Valley College.  She was a pioneer in the personal computer industry in Central Georgia, where she sold and trained consumers on the Commodore 64.  Her personal passions were sewing, crocheting, and shag dancing, which she taught for years on Tybee Island at The DeSoto Beach Hotel.

Ramona is preceded in death by her parents, and she is survived by her two sons, Douglas Edward Derry and Gregory Christian Derry (Charlotte); her grandchildren, Rowan Erb (Dillan), Claire Derry, Jacob Derry, Samuel Derry, Laynie Derry and Libby Derry; and her cousin, Hannah Lou Allen.
