Philip Haxall Noland Bell
Philip Haxall "Noland" Bell, born on September 4, 1963, to the late Augusta Carlisle Noland Bell and Dr. Frederick Mitchell Bell, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, entered into rest on October 13, 2016.
Noland received his High School Diploma from Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned a B.A. in History and Philosophy from Georgia State University and a B.S. in Education and M.A. in Public Administration from Kennesaw University. He utilized his education in serving God and Country in the U.S. Army and the GA National Guard, with three tours of duty in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Iraq, as well as teaching English as a secondary language in Korea. Mr. Bell was a member of the Society of the Cincinnati, North Carolina Chapter, and was also a lifetime member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Noland is preceded in death by his mother, Augusta Carlisle Noland Bell. He is survived by his father, Dr. Frederick Mitchell Bell, Jr.; his siblings, Frederick Mitchell Bell, III, of Thomson, Georgia; Augusta Bell Switzer (Paul) of Spartanburg, South Carolina; Lucy Jackson Bell of Thomson, Georgia; Lloyd Noland Bell (Ashley) of Atlanta, Georgia; two nieces, four nephews and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home in Thomson, Georgia followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m., with interment at Savannah Valley Cemetery with full military honors.
Thereafter, the family with receive guests at "Boots Hall" at Belle Meade Hunt. In lieu of flowers, please make monetary donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
