Patsy Onita (Barnett) Forehand

Patsy Onita Barnett Forehand, 71, of Raytown, Georgia passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at Pruitt Healthcare in Washington, Georgia.

Mrs. Forehand is survived by her two daughters, Melanie Forehand of Raytown and Dina Forehand of Atlanta, her very special grandson, Tyson Durell Forehand, her sister, Patricia McNair (Boyd) of Siloam, brother-in-law J.C Rhodes, Sr, of Crawfordville and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Forehand was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Melvin Durell Forehand who passed away in 2019.

Patsy was born on June 4, 1950 to James and Juanita Powell Barnett. She graduated in 1968 from Greene County High School and attended nursing school in Milledgeville, Georgia. She married Melvin Durell Forehand on February 5, 1971 and had two daughters to whom they devoted their lives. She welcomed with open arms her only grandson in 2014.

Patsy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed working in her yard, spending time with her grandson, and serving friends and her community with her husband. She was a member of Raytown Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and attended Sunday School and Bible Study until her health prevented her from attending. She was known for "telling it like it is" and rarely spared anyone from her thoughts. She enjoyed hosting with her husband their annual Fish Frys and feeding large crowds at her home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 12th at 3:00pm at Raytown Baptist Church in Raytown, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service in the Raytown Baptist Church sanctuary.
