Patrick "Steve" Stephen Godsey Sr.

Patrick Stephen Godsey Sr., 62, mainly known as Steve, passed away peacefully in Washington, GA, on November 27, 2023. Steve was born in Elberton, GA, on January 15, 1961 to the late Floyd Godsey and Jean Taylor Godsey.

Graveside service will be Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 4:00 PM at the Washington Wilkes Memorial Garden, with a visitation starting one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.

As a graduate of Athens Tech he honed his skills that shaped his career. He worked for years as a dedicated truck driver for Reed Ice Company. Prior to his time at Reed, Steve was an integral part of the team at Lannae Construction.

Steve had a Georgia Bulldog heart with an adventurous spirit. In his personal life, Steve loved his family and enjoyed time with them. Steve loved camping in his earlier years and shared a love for music And Georgia Football.

He leaves behind his children, Richard Welch and Stephen Godsey, Jr, both of Washington, and Leigh Taylor Knight (Chris) of Evans. He was a cherished brother to Bryan Godsey (Teri) of Lincolnton and Winnie Godsey Martin (Tommy) of Washington. He also leaves behind seven adoring grandchildren. Steve was a beloved uncle to Emily Martin Norman of Lincolnton and Trent Martin of Washington. Steve was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, his passion for the team was contagious and brought joy to those around him. He had a love for the outdoors, often found camping and traveling to new places. Music was a significant part of Steve's life, and he enjoyed attending concerts, sharing his love for music with friends and family. Steve had an innate ability to make people laugh, his sense of humor and warm personality touched those he met, leaving a lasting impression. His adventurous spirit, combined with his gentle nature, made him a joy to be around, creating many cherished memories for his loved ones. In his passing, we remember Patrick Stephen Godsey Sr. not just for his accomplishments, but for the man he was. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His spirit of adventure, selflessness, and gentleness will continue to inspire all those he has left behind. Steve will be deeply missed but remembered with love and affection.
