Orion Douglas Sebastian

Orion D. Sebastian, age 90, went to his home in Heaven on June 19, 2019 at his residence in Thomson, Georgia.

Mr. Sebastian was born April 28, 1929 in Mansfield, Louisiana son of the late J.W. Sebastian and the late Addie Viola Dykes Sebastian.  He graduated from Mansfield High School and attended the University of Georgia.

At an early age, he enlisted in the United States Army.  Throughout his military career, he served in Japan, Kansas, Germany, Vietnam, and Fort Gordon, Georgia where he retired as a Master Sergeant after 28 years of honorable service.

He attended Fort Creek Baptist church until his recent illness.  He loved the Lord, reading God's Word, and listening to gospel music.  He enjoyed many wonderful trips with family traveling to different locations exploring God's Creation.  He loved his family and friends, always striving to be a blessing to anyone he could.

Preceding him in death were siblings Mary, Ollie, Addie, Carney, Alice, Jarrell, and Charles; grandson Shawn Daniel Sebastian, and very close friend Agnes Dowda.

He is survived by his children, George Richard Sebastian and wife Loretta of Phoenix, Arizona; Viola Marie Sebastian of New Bern, North Carolina; Orion David Sebastian and wife Dawn; and John Daniel Sebastian and wife Angela of Stapleton, Georgia; grandchildren Travis, Bonita, John, Justin, Melissa, Joseph, Nolan, Sarah, and Margaret; and great-grandchildren Caleb, Logan, Ella and Violet.

The family offers thanks to Trinity Home Health and Hospice Services for their care during Mr. Sebastian's illness.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 6 at 11 a.m. in the  Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, Thomson, Georgia..

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
