Obituary

Mrs. Oma Faye Jackson Saggus, known lovingly as Faye, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, in Augusta, Georgia. Daughter of the late Robert O. and Annie Kate Powell Jackson was born on July 11, 1940 in Wilkes County where she grew up and joined Mt. Zion Methodist Church at an early age. After her marriage, she moved to Lincolnton and had resided on Elam Ave. for the past 65 plus years until recently when her health began to fail. Faye spent many years working as a seamstress for Almar, Oxford, Twilight, FDB, and Zeus. She was known for her steady hands, strong work ethic, and the care she put into everything she did. Her work reflected the same dedication and dependability that she showed in every part of her life. Those who knew her understood that she took pride in doing her best and in helping others whenever she could.

Outside of work, Faye found great joy in the simple and meaningful things of life. She loved babysitting her grandchildren, baking cakes, and taking care of others. Her home and her heart were always open, and she was happiest when she was serving her family and making life a little easier for someone else. She was selfless and loving, and those qualities were evident in the way she lived each day. Her faith remained an important part of her life throughout the years and she attended Bethany Church when she was able.

Faye will be remembered for her kindness, and her unwavering devotion to her husband whom she cared for during his illness for almost seven years before his death. She touched the lives of many with her warmth and her quiet strength. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and her legacy of faith, love, and service will not be forgotten.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah S. Crook and her husband Jack of Lincolnton, Georgia, and Jennifer S. Rentz and her husband Paul of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She also leaves behind her sisters, Josephine Crawford (Melvin) of Rayle, Georgia, and Florence (GC) McCorkle of Thomson, Georgia, along with her cherished grandchildren, Hannah Palmer (Tommy), Savannah Whaley (Lawrence), Annah Descio (Lucas), Alyssa Rentz, and C.J. Rentz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert O. and Annie Kate Powell Jackson, her husband, Leonard Aytch Saggus, and her siblings, Mary Vandiver, Lillie Crawford, Bobby Jackson, and Johnny Jackson.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 11 o’clock a.m. at Bethany Church of Iveytown with a visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. at Beggs Funeral Home prior to the service.
