Norman Ray Chester

Thomson, GA- Mr. Ray Chester, 66, entered into rest March 10, 2015. Mr. Chester was born in Dade, Florida and lived in Thomson, Georgia for the past 45 years. He worked at Thomson Company, Uniroyal, Superior Alarm and Regions Bank and later retired as the owner and operator of Ray's Lawn care. He was a faithful and devoted member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Chester; daughters, Crystal Schaefer and husband, James, Lisa Rushton and husband, Scott, Donna Fluker and husband, Jarrett; son, Matt Chester and wife, Amanda; sisters, Brenda Daily, Sharon Walker and grandchildren, Cody Schaefer, Dakota Schaefer, Kaitlyn Rushton, Megan Rushton, Cameron Rushton, Sarah Fluker, Benjamin Fluker, Weston Chester and Parker Chester. Mr. Chester was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Harlow Schaefer. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Sweetwater Baptist Church with Rev. J. B. Redd officiating. It is the family's request that memorial contributions be made to the Sweetwater Baptist Church Renovation Fund, 1606 Wrens Hwy., Thomson, GA 30824. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, GA is in charge.
