Nira "Nikki" Evans Miller, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home in Lincoln County, Georgia on July 11, 2023. She was born in the same county on May 2, 1938, and was known for her vivacious spirit, her love for family, and her entrepreneurial spirit. Nikki spent her formative years in the Beulah Community and was a graduate of Tignall High School in 1956. A few years after graduation, she married James B. Miller and together they moved to Nellis AFB near Las Vegas. Nikki was an intelligent and creative woman with a keen business sense. She owned and operated a beauty salon, Nikki's Nook in Vegas for many years. Moreover, she was a pioneer in the residential real estate industry, flipping houses long before the term became popular. A woman of many talents, Nikki wrote poetry, enjoyed singing and playing guitar. Her creativity and love for the arts brought joy to many and will be fondly remembered by those who loved her. Nikki was also known for her sharp sense of style, always impeccably dressed and with a love for beautiful clothing and accessories. Generosity was a defining trait of Nikki's character. She never judged anyone and was always ready to lend a helping hand. In addition to raising her own children and grandchildren, Nikki played a significant role in the upbringing of many others in her family.
Upon retirement, Nikki returned to her roots in Lincoln County in 1987. She spent her leisure time indulging in her passion for native American artifacts, fishing, and gardening. Her gardens, full of vibrant flowers and vegetables, were a testament to her nurturing spirit and love for nature. Nikki is survived by her daughter, Kimberly McCutcheon-O'Brien (Robert Struyk), her brothers, Doug and William W. Evans, and her sisters, Frances Ware, Donna Sue Bolton, and Millie Faye Trammell. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Chase and Chance McCutcheon, Shauna Littlechief Miner, and Stephanie Towne; and great- grandchildren, Kristen and Tyler Silvers, Skyler Szalla, Jacquelyn and Royce Miner, Jadyn Silvers, Kali Simpson, Tay Pullman, Jr., Knowledge Pulman, Addison and Alayna Tennant,Teagan and Jasper McCutcheon, Cayson and Acelyn McCutcheon. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janna Towne, and her siblings, Wilbur, Bobby, Jimmy, Sammy Evans, and Juanita Roberson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 2pm at Beulah Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6pm until 7:30pm at Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton.
