Nell Johnson Chalker Retired Garland Thomson, Ga. - Mrs. Nell Johnson Chalker, 98 entered into rest May 14, 2010 at Thomson Health and Rehabilitation. She was the beloved wife of the late Joe Lawrence Chalker. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Johnson United Methodist Church with Revs. David Jenkins and Allen Holbrook officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Rusty Allen, Mark Chalker, James Newsome, Clint Chalker, Wayne Jones and Justin Gunn. Mrs. Chalker was born in Warren County, Georgia on July 4, 1911 and was the daughter of the late Wesley S. Johnson and the late Irene Poole Johnson. In addition to being a devoted homemaker she worked at Thomson Company and later retired from Garland Company in Warrenton, Georgia. Mrs. Chalker was the oldest member of Johnson United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and she loved her family very much. Survivors include her children, Gene L. Chalker and wife Stella of Warrenton, Wayne Chalker of Thomson, Edith C. Langford and husband Bobby of Warrenton and Reba Allen of Thomson; grandchildren, Vicki A. Jones and husband Wayne, Rusty Allen, Debra C. Radford and husband Randy, Mark Chalker and wife Teresa, Becky C. Gunn and husband Danny, Peggy C. Newsome and husband James, Bobby Chalker and wife Sheryll, 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Chalker was preceded in death by her siblings, Josie J. Johnson, Ruby J. Abbott, Forrest Johnson and Harvey Johnson. She was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Adam Chalker.
