Thomson, GA - Mrs. Nancy Swyt Scouten, 68, entered into rest September 12, 2012 at University Hospital McDuffie.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 3 o'clock p.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Johnson officiating.
Mrs. Scouten was born in Plainfield, New Jersey to the late Joseph Swyt and the late Henrietta Swyt. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and had lived in Thomson since 1978. Mrs. Scouten was devoted to her charity work. She and her husband traveled with the Caravaners for Habitat for Humanity. Mrs. Scouten was a member of the Augusta Kennel Club, the Humane Society and the Cesky Terrier Club. She and her husband enjoyed camping and served as campground hosts.
She is survived by her husband, George Scouten,Jr.; sons, David Scouten and wife, Amanda of Grovetown, Glen Scouten; daughter, Laura Bierner and husband, Jason; brother, Donald Swyt of Delaware; grandchildren, Madison Scouten, Rianna Scouten, Elizabeth Bierner and Gage Scouten.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Friends may call at the residence of Glen Scouten, 1521 Wire Road or on Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
