Nancy Young Dunaway, 91, of Thomson, GA entered into rest on May 22, 2021 at her residence.

Nancy was born September 3, 1929 in McDuffie County, GA to the late Clarence Eugene Young and the late Myrtle Washington Young. She lived in Columbia County as a child and returned to Thomson when she was 16 years old. Following Thomson High School she married Robert Adron Dunaway, Sr.  Nancy was employed by Wall's Jewelry Store for many years. She along with her husband, Adron owned and operated Dunaway Bait and Tackle. Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Robert Adron Dunaway, Sr. and son, Jerry Dunaway. She was a faithful and devoted member of Young Memorial United Methodist Church.

Nancy took pleasure in faithfully honoring friends and loved ones during all of life's special occasions, but her greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her happiest moments were spent preparing meals for them and serving with love.

Survivors include her son, Robert A. Dunaway, Jr. and wife, Sherry; daughter, Jane D. Young and husband, Jimmy all of Thomson; grandchildren, Amy Kitchens and husband, Eddie, Jennifer Ansley and husband, Brad, Kenny Dunaway and wife, Regina, Ginny Kent and husband, Dale, Mandy Dunaway, Bob Dunaway and Toni, Lacey Mosley and husband, John; 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and special niece and nephew, Joan and Bobby Cushman.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 24, 2021 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Thomson.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
