Monty Chris Fant

Monty Chris Fant, known affectionately as Chris to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, in Washington, GA. Born on August 18, 1963, in Meridian, MS, Chris's journey through life was marked by his warm spirit, his dedication to his family, and his passion for his work and hobbies. Chris grew up in Meridian, where he attended local schools and graduated from high school. His love for practical knowledge led him to Meridian Community College, where he pursued an electrical degree. This foundation paved the way for a successful career a skilled programmer for touch screens PLC at Promach, where he dedicated 25 years of service. His work was not just a job; it was a testament to his commitment to excellence and innovation in his field. In his personal life, Chris was a man of many interests, but none more important than his family and their beloved cats. He found joy in the simplicity of CB radios, a hobby that allowed him to connect with others and share his enthusiasm for communication technology. His skills as an electrician often came in handy, both at work and at home, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand or share his knowledge with those around him. Chris's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Cathryn Jones Fant, who has been his partner in all of life's adventures. Together, they raised two wonderful children: their son, Josh Fant, and his wife, Kelli, of Savannah, GA, and their daughter, Danielle F. Blount, and her husband, Tyler, of Lincolnton, GA. Chris's joy was multiplied with the arrival of his granddaughter, Aurora Grace Blount, who brought a new spark to his eye and laughter to his heart. He is also survived by his sisters, Cynthia Quallen and Brenda Wyble, and his brother, James Thompson and his mother-in-law, Peggy Jones, will remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ricky and Dale Fant, and his parents, Wilburn Fant and Katie Newsome Breland. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Chris Fant will be deeply missed, but the light he brought into this world will continue to shine through the lives of those he touched.
