Michael "Mike" Cook

Thomson, GA- Mr. David Michael "Mike" Cook, 66, of Hemlock Drive entered into rest June 23, 2013.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2013 in the Chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Butch Baston officiating.

Mr. Cook was born in Sand Mountain, Alabama to the late Robert Donald Cook, Sr. and the late Mattie Braswell Cook. He was a 1965 graduate of Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia. Following graduation he played minor league baseball with the Detroit Tigers for 5 years. Mr. Cook then worked in the insurance business and retired as a Cotton States Representative with Mike Cook Agency after 30 years of service. He attended Union Baptist Church in Thomson, Georgia.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Christie N. Cook; sons, Derek Michael Cook, David Charles Cook both of Canton, GA; step-son, Allen Sikes of Camak, GA; step-daughter, Cori Reese of Wrightsville, GA; brother, Johnny Cook of Woodstock, GA; sister, Vickie Cook Turner of Brunswick, GA and 9 grandchildren. In addition to his parents Mr. Cook was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Donald Cook, Jr.

Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or to Muscular Dystrophy Association.
