Thomson, Georgia-Mrs. Melba Watkins, 82, of County Line Road entered into rest June 16, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Grant Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Watkins was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Walter Carl Denton and the late Anniebelle Whitaker Denton. She has lived in McDuffie County, Georgia since 1985. Mrs. Watkins was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and a former member of the Lions Club and VFW.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Don Watkins; sons, Steve Fountain of Atlanta, Wayne Fountain of Columbia, SC and David Watkins and wife, Mary of Harlem, GA; sisters, Carlene Arban of Waynesboro, GA, Joanne Lawler of Pooler, GA; brother, Raymond L. Denton of Florida and three grandchildren, David Watkins, Renee Watkins and Elysse Watkins.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
