Maude S. Griffith

Maude Alice Griffith, 99, of Washington went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. She was a resident of Greene Point Nursing Home. Mrs. Griffith was a long-time member of Victory Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late James Madison Sisson and Eva Sisson Lunceford. Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by her husband, Sanders Griffith; and sons Melvin Griffith and Virgil Griffith. Mrs. Griffith will be missed by her son, James Lawrence (Alice) Griffith, of Athens, TN; Daughter-in-law, Myra Reese Griffith of Lincolnton, GA; sisters, Vera Williamson, of Augusta, GA and Lois Nunn, of Washington, GA, as well as her grandchildren, Sandra (Jerry) Elkins of Clarksville, GA; Kathy (Jerry) Osborne of Riceville, TN; Tim Griffith of Lawrenceville, GA; Pete (Pam) Griffith of Cummings, GA; Renee (Ernie) Guthrie of Lincolnton, GA; Jackie (Steve) Pruitt of Toccoa, GA; and Jimmy (Missy) Griffith of Lincolnton, GA. She will also be missed by her great grand-children, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as many friends. She had two deceased brothers, James A. Sisson, of Canton, NC and John Lloyd Sisson, of Washington and a deceased sister, Lila Mae Lunceford Young, of Washington, GA.
