Mary Helen Thornton

Mrs. Thornton, daughter of the late Phillip W. and Gussie Langford Combs, was a lifelong resident of Wilkes County. She was a homemaker and member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Her husband, Tom Thornton, preceded her in death. Survivors: Son:Tommy Thornton, Milledgeville Sister: Frances C. West, Decatur Numerous nieces and nephews including: Jan Danner, Lincolnton Fran Fortson, Washington Edwin "Bubba" Combs, McCormick 9 Great- nieces and nephews 12 Great- great nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 17th at 11 a.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary from 10am until the hour of the service on Thursday.
