Mary (Martin) Powell

Mary Martin Powell, age 61, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at University Hospital McDuffie.

She was born on November 17, 1954 to David and Martha Comolli Martin.

Mary was a graduate of Elberton High School, attended Emory at Oxford, Emory University, University of Georgia and graduated from Medical College of Georgia as a Medical Doctor.  She began her medical practice in Internal Medicine in Thomson, Georgia in 1987.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Franklin Powell and several cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be at Beggs Funeral Home from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, July 9, 2016.  The funeral service will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.
