Mary Church Norris

Mary Church Norris Camak, GA- Mrs. Mary Church Norris, 95 of Baker Street entered into rest June 22, 2015. Mrs. Norris was born on February 27, 1920 in McComb, IL to the late James T. Church and the late Birdie Radcliff Church. She was a member of the Camak Baptist Church since 1949 where she taught Sunday School for various classes, Youth Director for a time and remained active throughout the years. Mrs. Norris loved good country and gospel music and was a member of NARFE and the Gold Star Wives of the America, Inc.  She was the former Mayor of Camak from 1963-1970, being the first elected woman Mayor of the town. Mrs. Norris was the beloved wife of the late Floyd Nelson Norris and the late James R. Jones, Sr.  She was preceded in death by grandson, Stephen Norris and granddaughters, Kelly Bellamy and Tonya Jones. Survivors include her sons, Randy Jones, Johnny Norris and wife, Diane; daughters, Stella Bellamy and husband, Bobby, Diane Adams and husband, David, Evie Moon and husband, Keith; grandchildren, Jamie Jones and wife, Maren, Bob Bellamy and wife, Ashley, Jenny Mooney and husband, Ben; Dana Jenkins and husband, Ken; six great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; and sister, Betty Parsons. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 26th at Camak Baptist Church with Rev. Bryant Neal and Rev. Marty Pinion officiating. Interment will follow in the Camak Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Camak Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box, 91, Camak, GA 30807. Friends may call the residence at 315 N.
