Mary Paradise Martin Goldman

Mrs. Mary Paradise (Martin) Goldman went home to be with the Lord on Sunday October 27, 2024 at her residence in Lincolnton surrounded by her family. Mary was born on August 26, 1955 in Lincolnton, GA. Mary's early years were spent on the family farm, where she learned the value of hard work and the joy of simple pleasures. Mary wed the late Randy Martin on her 16th birthday and they built a life for the next 24 years. After his tragic death in 1995, Mary was blessed to find the late Racy Goldman to share the next 23 years of her life with.

During her young adult years, she worked at a textile plant in McCormick, SC, followed by the nutrition department at Lincoln County Elementary School. Mary left working at the school to spend more time with her family and help with the family business, Paradise BarBQue. Her greatest joy was found in the time spent with her beloved grandchildren, to whom she was lovingly known as Memaw. She was passionate about gospel music and traveled from the mountains to the beach to hear her favorite hymns at singing events. Mary spent her life as a humble servant, both in church and caring for those close to her. Mama Mary was a faithful member of Loco Baptist Church where she served in many areas for 50+ years. Mary's life was a living example of servitude and care. She tended to the needs of those around her with a grace and humility that inspired all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy as a humble servant and caregiver will continue to resonate through the community she so lovingly nurtured.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Boyce and Jean Paradise. She is survived by her children John Martin (Jymi), and Melissa Parton (Aaron) all of Lincolnton, Ga. Affectionately known as Memaw, she leaves behind her grandchildren Trey, Mackenzie, Lane, Tristan, Logan and Randilyn. In addition, Mary also leaves behind her siblings, Billy Paradise, Tommy Paradise (Tomi) and Linda Johnson as well as her church family and numerous extended family members including Dana Newsome (Jeff), Tammy Suttles (Roger), Jonathan Goldman, Macie Jenkins (Chuck) and their children.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Bristol Hospice and her personal caregiver, Stacy Millett, for their loving kindness and compassionate care during Mary's final days. Mary Paradise Goldman's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, service, and unwavering faith. Her memory will be a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 6pm until 8pm at Beggs Funeral Home in Lincolnton. The funeral service will be held at Loco Baptist Church on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 2pm with graveside immediately following in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gideons International for the placement of bibles throughout the community.
