Mary Bessie (Hardin) Sheppard

Mary Bessie Sheppard, 76, of Greensboro, GA entered into rest January 22, 2021.

Mrs. Sheppard was born in Gibson, Glascock County,  GA, to the late Walter Thomas "Dub" Hardin, Sr. and Mary Magaline "Mag" Lamb.  Mary lived in the Thomson area until 1992 when she moved to Greensboro, Georgia.  She worked at Thomson Company for many years.  After moving to Greensboro, she worked as a security guard with Novalis.  Mrs. Sheppard loved her children, life, dancing, gardening and traveling.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Bobbie Anne Kelly, and a sister, Evelyn Newsome.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Clements; three daughters, Deborah "Debbie" Cato (Roy), Thomson, Carolyn Jump (John), Norwood, and Tracy Culbreth, Greensboro; son, Mark Clements; brother, Walter Thomas Hardin, Jr.; two sisters, Joyce Usry and Helen Watts; five grandchildren and twelve great- grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Charles Reese officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday night at Beggs Funeral Home.

Per CDC requirements, the family will be observing social distancing. Masks are requested and appreciated. Due to the current national health concern, the family would appreciate phone calls, cards, texts, and e-mails.
