Mary Alice Faulk Dukes

Thomson, GA-Mrs. Mary Alice Faulk Dukes, 83, wife of the late Bobby Frank Dukes entered peacefully into rest on May 20, 2015.

Alice was born to the late Herchel Faulk and the late Mary Liza Faulk. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Oliver Faulk and Hazel Faulk.

Alice was a native of Bleckley County, GA, but lived in Harlem GA for 34 years before moving to Thomson. In her younger years, Alice was a nurse at Taylor Memorial Hospital in Hawkinsville. For many years since, she has been a wonderful homemaker for her family. She was an avid gardener and an excellent cook. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and playing Yahtzee. She was a member of Old Union Baptist Church in Harlem, GA.

Mrs. Dukes is survived by her children, Hughly Mays (Karen), Susan Bowman, Frank Dukes (Susan), John Dukes (Diana), Robert Dukes, Mark Dukes (Diane), James Dukes (Elizabeth), Eric Dukes; sisters, Opal Faulk Hobbs, Ruby Abney (Carl); grandchildren, Heidi Gunby (Dennis), Ali Mays, Hughlon Mays, John Dukes, Chaise Dukes, Jennifer Dukes, Jeff Dukes, Jamie Dukes, Cody Bowman, Angela Webber, Christy Goldsmith (Michael), Jarrad Dukes (April), Corrie Dukes; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Hank Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, GA.
