Mary Cherryl Seymour "Cherrie" (pronounced Sherry), as most knew her by, was born November 14, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio. Cherrie passed away on the evening of July 8, 2022, and has gone on to be with her Lord. She lived in Columbus, Ohio until moving to Sugar Grove, Ohio after marrying. She moved to Mt. Vernon, Ohio in 1985 after marrying again to William Seymour and moved to Thomson, Georgia in 2002 to be closer to her husband's employment. Cherrie enjoyed reading, flower gardening, loved spending time with family and friends and was an active member of Washington Heights Baptist Church in Thomson, Georgia.
Cherrie is preceded in death by her husband William R. Seymour; adoptive parents, Charles and Belle Wilson; her mother, Wanda Jean Hambrick; and sister, Patricia Hambrick; and step-son, Steven Seymour. She is survived by sisters, Judy Hunley (Circleville, Ohio) and Joyce May (Ashville, Ohio); four children, David Cassinger and Tammy Hannah (both Thomson Georgia), Anna Ruiz (Dayton, Ohio) and Robert Cassinger (Mt. Vernon, Ohio). Cherrie is grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of twelve.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Washington Heights Baptist Church. Cherrie's Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Church, being officiated by Rev. Gary Caudell and Rev. Doug Thompson.
