Mary Jane Alley

Mary Jane Young Alley, 69, of Thomson, GA, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 12, 2023. She was the daughter of the late James Foster Young, III and Faye Hitt Young. Mary Jane grew up in Thomson and attended Thomson High School. She lived most of her life in the McDuffie and Richmond County area. As a Master Cosmetologist, she opened her own business in Thomson before relocating to Augusta where she continued to serve these communities for over 40 years.

In her retirement, she enjoyed being in nature, visiting and camping in the North Georgia and North Carolina mountains, listening to her favorite music and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mary Jane is survived by her children; Nicole Adams, Erica Adams, Jessica Adams Hixon and Steven Gross; her sister, Melissa Young Reynolds; her brother, James Foster (Jimmy) Young, IV (Jane); of Thomson, GA; her sister, Lydia Young Ham of Forsyth, GA; her grandchildren, Mason Yelding, Brayden Hixon, Barrett Hixon, Azure Renn and MaKenna Adams and one great granddaughter, Alayna Yelding. She also leaves behind nine first cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at Unwind on Central, 2120 Central Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904.

In lieu of flowers the Family requests donations to the Ronald McDonald House, 1442 Harper St., Augusta GA 30901.
