Thomson, GA – Mrs. Martha Lovinggood Johnson, 106, entered into rest February 27, 2017.

Mrs. Johnson was born February 22, 1911 in Elbert County, GA to the late Samuel Jackson Lovinggood and the late Mattie Bell Lovinggood. She was a homemaker and lived in Augusta most of her life. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Elberton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, George Edward Johnson. Survivors include her daughter, Lucille Perdue Higdon of Thomson; sons, George Calvin Johnson and Sam Paul Johnson both of Augusta; grandchildren, Steve Perdue, Saundra Maxwell, Lorretta Hinnant, Beverly Goda, Stanley Johnson and Suzanne Johnson; 9 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 3 o'clock p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Westover Memorial Park, Augusta with Dr. Michael L. Davenport officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
