Marion Hardy

Lincolnton, Ga. -Mr. Marion Pierce Hardy, 68, of Elm Drive, Lincolnton, GA went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2011. He was the son of the late Vernon W. Hardy and Jewell W. Hardy, had lived in Augusta most of his life and moved to Lincoln County in 1993. Mr. Hardy was a former salesman and small business owner having retired from General Wholesale Co. He had also owned Pump-N-Shop on Olive Rd in Augusta and worked as Division Manager for Mass Merchandise. In addition, he served in the US Army National Guard. He was an active member of Morningside Baptist Church in Lincolnton serving on the Finance Committee as well as being a Trustee. He is survived to cherish his memory by his wife of 45 years, Judy Thomas Hardy, sons, Shane Hardy and wife Tracey, of Athens, GA and Bert Hardy and wife Stacey, of Hardeeville, SC, brother, Robert Hardy and wife, Harolyn of Evans, GA , sister, Celestine Scoggin of Martinez, in-laws, John and Becky Thomas of N. Augusta, SC and his grandchildren, Ashley, Alicia, Erin and Alex Hardy. Funeral services will be conducted at Morningside Baptist Church, Lincolnton, on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dan Fernandez officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. At his request, his remains will be cremated following the service.
