Marion Turner Briggs

Thomson, Georgia- Mrs. Marion Turner Briggs, 92, of Ridge Road, entered rest May 3, 2017.

Mrs. Briggs was born in Garfield, GA to the late Perry Turner and the late Annie Elizabeth Kent Turner. She lived in Augusta, GA most of her life and she was retired from King Mill with over 40 years of service. Mrs. Briggs was a faithful and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Briggs, and sons, Howard Briggs and Ronnie Briggs. Mrs. Briggs was a devout child of God and a member of Washington Heights Baptist Church.  Her family said she was an Angel of light that showed her children the right path to life.

Survivors include her sons, Victor Briggs (Martha) of Martinez, GA, Benny Briggs (Lynda) of Harlem, GA; daughters, Shirley Hicks of Thomson, GA, Laverne Lord (Gary) of Augusta, GA; brother, Vernon Turner (Tammy) of Santee Cooper, SC; sisters, Jaquelyn Hallman of Alabama and Cornelia Kitchens (Floyd) of Grovetown, GA; and 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m, Friday, May 5, 2017 at Washington Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown, GA.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11:00 a.m., Friday prior to the service at the church.
