Margaret Norman Parks

Mrs. Margaret Norman Parks, 91 of Elam Ave., entered into rest on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington.

Mrs. Parks, daughter of the late Carlton and Della Ware Norman, was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. She attended Midway and Forest Grove Schools. In 1943, she married Richard Maynard Parks. A few years later, they moved to their new home that her father built.  She had been employed in the textile industry and her husband, Maynard died in August of 1974.  In the early 1990's, she retired from Riegel Textiles, McCormick and began a small daycare in her home for several years. Other family members that preceded her in death include brothers, Harvey Norman, Allen Norman, and sisters, Marian Fagan, Ada Mildred Wright, and Joyce Bentley.  Mrs. Parks resided in the Elam Ave. home until January when she moved to Country Manor Personal Care, Tignall.

Survivors:

Sisters: Katherine N. Wheatley and husband, Stanley of Washington

Jacqueline N. Butler, and husband, Claude of McCormick, SC

Other relatives include a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Midway United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
