Dearing, Ga. - Mrs. Marcia B. "Granny" Weaver, 89 of Mitchener Rd. entered into rest March 15, 2010 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late William Garnett Weaver.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rodney Dunaway, Sara Cranford and Chaplain Wayne Bruner officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Shane Rimmer, William Murphy, Joe Howell, Richard McCorkle, Barry Crosby, Tommy Bailey and Tim McCorkle.
Mrs. Weaver was born in Wilkes County, Georgia but lived most of her life in McDuffie County. She was the daughter of the late William J. Bailey and the late Bertha Mae Turner Bailey. Mrs. Weaver was a homemaker and a member of Bonevillle United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Allen Weaver of Lincolnton; daughter, Marilyn W. Freeman and husband Otis of Dearing, GA; brothers, Leon Bailey of Livingston,TX, George Bailey of Elberton, GA, Gene Bailey of Lawrenceburg, TN, sisters, Fannie Bussey of Port Neches, TX, Mary Nettles of Livingston, TX; grandchildren, Ann Weaver, Jan Weaver, Karen McCorkle, Sharon Sankey, Cheryl Adkins, Melissa Rimmer, Anna Dunaway, Stella Crosby; 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Ruth Adkins.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
