Biography

Mabel W. Lowe Thomson, GA- Mrs. Mabel Willoughby Lowe, 81 of King Street entered into rest June 13, 2011 at Thomson Health and Rehabilitation. She was the beloved wife of the late Billie Blanchard Lowe. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in the Marshall Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Lowe was born in Oglethorpe County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Walton Willoughby and the late Lillian Willis Willoughby. She moved to Thomson, Georgia when she was thirteen years old and later graduated in 1946 from Thomson High School. Mrs. Lowe was the retired co-owner of Lowe's Feed and Seed in Thomson. She was also a homemaker and a faithful member of Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Brooks and husband, Donald, Thomson, GA, Gayle Graziano, Hayesville, NC, sisters, Edna W. Stewart, Thomson, GA, Annie Laurie Caldwell. Lexington, GA, Mary Frances Zakarian, Matteson, IL, grandchildren, Dana Allen and husband, Troy, Valeri Cushman and husband, Jonathan; great grandchildren, Trevor Allen, Blake Washam, Hannah Allen, Ben Cushman, Barrett Cushman; nephews, Robert Walton Caldwell, Alfred Virgil Caldwell, John Edgar Caldwell and beloved pet companion, "Dandy". Friends may call the residence at 306 King Street, Thomson, GA or the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 P.M. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the funeral home.
