Bud Farr
Thomson, Georgia – Mr. Luther Edwin "Bud" Farr, 89, entered into rest, February 27, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 02, 2013 from the Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Farr was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Georgia and was the son of the late James Robert Farr and Naomi Marshall Farr. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and upon returning home worked for the civil service at Fort Gordon where he retired. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Mr. Farr served as Bailiff for the McDuffie County Sheriff's office. He was a faithful and devoted member of Sharon Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for many years.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Dorothy Cartledge Farr; son, Donald Edwin Farr and wife, Carol all of Thomson; two grandchildren, Brian Edwin Farr and wife, Tara of Martinez, and Brandon Cartledge Farr of Augusta, and one great grandchild, Emily Ryan Farr.
Memorials may be made to the Sharon Baptist Church Building Fund, 6262 Cobbham Rd., Appling, GA 30802.
The family will receive friends at the home of Donnie and Carol Farr and from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., Friday, March 1, 2013 at the funeral home.
Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson is in charge of arrangements.
