Louise Newsome Norris

Louise N. Norris Thomson, Georgia- Mrs. Louise Newsome Norris, 87, of Mesena Rd. entered into rest October 24, 2014. Mrs. Norris was born in Warren County, Georgia but lived in McDuffie County most of her life. She was retired from Southern Bell with 40 years of service. Mrs. Norris was a faithful and devoted member of Mesena United Methodist Church, a member of the Reese-Hall Sunday School Class and the UMW. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Survivors include her sisters, Betty McDonald, Dorothy Akins (Jake); sister-in-law, Carolyn Newsome and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Norris was preceded in death by her husband, Jason A. Norris; parents, Fred E. Newsome and Mary Lou Smith Newsome and brothers, Roy Newsome, Morgan Newsome, Fred Newsome, Jr., Mack Newsome and Carl Newsome. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Rick Herring officiating. Pallbearers will be: Carl Newsome, Jr., Johnny Norris, Billy Newsome, Clyde Newsome, Eddie Newsome and Bill McCord. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mesena United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 428, Mesena, GA 30819. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
