Louise (Rousey) Harper

Mrs. Louise Rousey Harper, age 95, of Flat Rock Road,  Tignall passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Pruitt Health in Washington, Ga. The daughter of the late  Clifton W. and Clara Echols Rousey, she was born September 19, 1926 in Tignall, Georgia. She married Paul Sutton Harper, Jr.  on September 20, 1947. They made their home in Toccoa, Georgia from 1947 until 1980. She was a faithful member of Beulah Baptist Church where she served on the hostess committee and was a member of WMU. She was a member of the Tignall Homemakers Club and the Washington Wilkes Garden Club. She had a servants heart and was always volunteering to help others. Some of her favorite hobbies were quilting , sewing, gardening and reading. Her husband Paul Sutton Harper, Jr. and siblings Mary Saucer, Ellis Rousey, Lois Denard and Alvin Rousey preceded her in death. . She is survived by her daughter, Paula Harper Butts (Gary)of Tignall, son, Dr. Ken Harper (Terri) of Macon, her grandchildren, Michelle Smith (Trey), Benjamin Harper (Jane), Patrick Harper (Carlisle), Elizabeth Brannen  (Jeff), and Dr. Thomas Harper and her great grandchildren, Harper and Ansley Smith, Elijah, Bennett, Rivers and Clay Harper, Joshua and David Brannen and Faye Harper.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at 2pm at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Beulah Baptist Church,  Vera Harper, 3198 Delhi Road, Tignall, GA 30668.
