LOIS HALL GUINN
RETIRED RECEPTIONIST
MRS. LOIS HALL GUINN a long time resident of Augusta, GA., entered into rest, June 29, 2007 at the Manor Care Nursing Home, Marietta, GA. She was the beloved wife of the late George C. Guinn, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00PM, Sunday, July 01, 2007 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, Thomson, GA. with Rev. Jeanette Purvis officiating. Interment will be held at Johnson Cemetery, Warrenton, GA. Pallbearers will be : Joe Murphy, Kim Murphy, Jay Hall , Jimmy Hall, Joey Biddy, William Bracey and Ben Walden .
Mrs. Guinn was born September 6, 1920, in Warrenton, GA and was the daughter of the late Thomas Watson Hall, Sr. and the late Mattie Belle Norris Hall. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Bernard, Glendower, J.C., Thomas and Allen Hall.
She is survived by her two daughters, Connie Jordan (Tom) - Gainesville, GA and
Diana Mueller (Tom) - Rome, GA. She was a loving grandmother to her two grandchildren, Jennifer Maassen (Erick) and Erol Martin Ham III (Trey).
Three Great Grandchildren: Phillip, Julia and Nicolas Maassen.
She was also survived by two sisters, Mildred Hall Murphy (Pat) - Roswell, GA and Sara Bradford - Roswell, GA.
After graduating from Warrenton High School, she attended Thomson Business School. She began her career at Fort Gordon, Augusta, GA. during World War II. Later she held positions in the medical field as a receptionist.
Lois was an active member of P.S.I., a secretarial organization which would enable her to enjoy many interesting and exciting trips with her many colleagues. She thoroughly enjoyed her work as president of the Military Order of the Auxiliary of the Purple Heart and especially "Poppy Day". When her children were young, she was a Girl Scout leader. She always loved her churches and was a primary Sunday School teacher at West End Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. where she and her family were members.
As an enabler, Lois delighted helping everyone, especially family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, especially her daughters Easter dresses, working in her yards tending her flowers, loved the Masters and Johnson United Methodist Church revivals.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
