Linda Marie (Myers) Thornton

Mrs. Linda Marie Myers Thornton passed away peacefully at her home in Washington, GA, on June 4, 2024, at the age of 51. Born on February 8, 1973, to Joel Ray Myers and Tommie Dill Myers, Linda's life was a tapestry of close family bonds, cherished friendships, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. Linda's legacy is carried on by her devoted husband, William "Bill" Thornton, with whom she shared a life full of laughter and love. Her spirit will forever be reflected in the lives of her children, Justin Bentley and Amanda Bentley, whom she raised with an abundance of love and gentle guidance. Linda's sister, Catherine Freeland, and brothers, Joel Myers, Clay Myers, and Eddie Myers, will continue to honor her memory by embodying the values she held dear. Her grandchildren, Sara, T.J., and Colton, who were her pride and joy, will always remember the special moments spent in their grandmother's nurturing embrace. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Elijah Morgan, Walt Morgan, and Thomas Sinn, who have welcomed her into eternal rest. Before dedicating her life to her family as a homemaker, Linda worked as a secretary for B & A Tire Company. Her professional warmth and efficiency left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with her. Linda's interests were a reflection of her love for the world around her. She found joy in spending time spoiling her grandchildren, a task she undertook with great enthusiasm and creativity. Shopping was not just a pastime for Linda, but an opportunity to find treasures for her loved ones, always thinking of others before herself. Her flower garden was a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit, with every bloom representing her care and attention. A frequent visitor to flea markets, Linda had a keen eye for the unique and beautiful, often finding the most extraordinary items in the most unexpected places. Her collection of rocks and crystals was not just a hobby but a representation of her belief in the healing power of nature and the importance of being grounded in one's environment. As we say farewell to Mrs. Linda Marie Myers Thornton, we celebrate a life lived with grace and kindness. Her memory will be cherished and her presence sorely missed. Linda's influence will continue to be felt through the countless lives she touched with her gentle spirit and loving heart. Her family takes comfort in knowing that her legacy of love will live on through the stories they share and the memories they hold dear. In the quiet spaces of the gardens she tended, the laughter of her grandchildren, and the whisper of the wind through the crystals she so loved, Linda's spirit will remain with us, a gentle reminder of a life well-lived and a woman deeply loved.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Tommy Kamp, Daniel Labadie, Michele and Charles Shelton, Colleen McCune, Linda's mother-in-law, Pat Thornton, Lori O'Connor, Kendall Mayo and Courtney Coleman.

The family will receive friends on Saturday June 8, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton. The family will host A Celebration of Life of Linda's Home on Sunday June 9, 2024 from 3-6 p.m. at 1049 Ralph Goolsby Road.
