Linda Thurmond Cox

Mrs. Linda Thurmond Cox, 78 of Lewis Crook Rd., Lincolnton entered into rest on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Piedmont Augusta.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 3 pm at Jones Chapel with Rev. Paul Reviere officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

Mrs. Cox, daughter of the late Hugh B. and Addie Florence Raffini Thurmond was born in Lincoln County on December 27, 1943 where she grew up and graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1962. Afterwards, she was employed at Riegel, McCormick and later at Mayfair Mills. In addition, she served as a caregiver for many of her family members. She attended Jones Chapel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Clinton Cox and brothers, Bennie Thurmond, Clark Thurmond and Frank Thurmond.

Survivors include her brother, Billy Thurmond of Hartwell; sisters-in-law, Rachel Thurmond and Agnes Thurmond both of Lincolnton; aunts, Sadie Hunt, Washington and Doris Hazel, Greenwood; uncle, Milton Raffini; special friend, George Turner along with many nieces and nephews.
