Leonard "Curtis" Smith, 90, Warrenton, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on May 25, 2024.

Curtis was born in Trenton, South Carolina on May 11, 1934, went to elementary school in Camak and graduated from Warrenton High School.  He lived in Warren County since the age of 4, was a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge and the Thomson Shrine Club (H. Lee Temple) a member of the Woodmen of the World and the Thomson Country Club, enjoyed playing golf, hunting and his passion was farming.  Curtis was Methodist by faith and a member of Mesena Methodist Church until his later years he attended Thomson Methodist Church. He loved serving his Lord, being active in his Church and loved spending time with his friends, especially spending time his family and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his late wife, June Coxwell Smith and his parents, John Curtis (J.C.) Smith and Myrom Simons Smith.  Curtis' survivors include his wife, Carolyn Purvis Smith; his sons, Ricky Smith (Wanda) of Mesena, Georgia; Chris McGahee (Margie) of Duluth, Georgia and Jeff McGahee (Nikki) of Texas; his daughters, Marcia Braswell (Larry) of Mesena, Georgia, Debbie Shugart (Eric) of Watkinsville, Georgia; his grandchildren, Ray Hill (Kennon), Christian Powell (Jason), Crystal Norris (Brett), Rebekah Wingo (Wyatt), Elizabeth Shugart and R. C. Smith and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Mesena United Methodist Church, 2455 Mesena Road, Warrenton, Georgia 30828, in the Church Fellowship Hall.  His funeral service will be held following the visitation in the Mesena Methodist Church Cemetery at the graveside at 11:00 a.m., being officiated by Chaplain Christie.
