Thomson, GA. - Mr. Lawrence H. Ashley, 72, entered into rest February 4, 2018.

Mr. Ashley was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County and the son of the late Claude O. Ashley, Sr. and the late Myrtis Hinton Ashley. He was a 1964 graduate of Thomson High School and served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam. Mr. Ashley enjoyed gardening and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Patrice "Patti" Ashley; son, Preston O. Ashley of Thomson, GA; daughter, Leigh Lackey (Travis) of Harlem, GA; brothers, Claude O. Ashley, Jr. (Becky) of Thomson, GA, James Ashley (Cheri) of Cumming, GA and grandchildren, Justin Hughes and Topanga Hughes.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock, Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 717, Thomson, GA 30824. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
