Larry Edward Wilder

Larry Edward Wilder, 73 of Lincolnton passed away peacefully on June 28, 2024 at his residence. Born in Greensboro, Georgia, on May 12, 1951, to the late William and Dorothy Wheelis Wilder, Larry's life was a testament to the values of love, friendship, and family that he held dear. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Bramlett; daughters, Misty Wilder (Palmer) and Meredith Thornton (Chris), and his sons, Joey Wilder (Amanda) and Stacey Bramlett; sister, Sandra Wilder Schnitzer (Gary); six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, each of whom brought a unique light to his eyes.

Larry's work as an expert paint and body technician was not just a job but a craft he honed throughout his life, having learned the trade in his father's paint and body business from a young age. His skilled hands and attention to detail were well-known and his dedication to his work was evident to all who knew him. While Larry was a Baptist by faith, he found spiritual fulfillment attending services at Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church. Larry's love for history, particularly family history, was one of his many passions. He would often be found delving into genealogical records, uncovering stories, and preserving the legacy of his ancestors for future generations. It was this love for the past that kept him grounded and connected to those he held dear. His kindness extended beyond his human connections, as Larry had a soft spot for animals. He loved cats and had a habit of bringing stray dogs home, providing them with love and shelter. His compassion for all living creatures was a true reflection of his gentle spirit. Larry's warmth and friendliness will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of crossing his path. He was the kind of person who never met a stranger, and his presence could light up a room. As the saying goes, "A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same," a sentiment by Elbert Hubbard that captures the essence of Larry's relationships with others. Larry Wilder leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to his family and community. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who loved him. As we say goodbye to Larry, we celebrate his life and the countless ways he touched ours. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6pm until 8pm at Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton.
