Larry Eugene Turner, 77, husband of Shirley Mitchell Turner, resident of Campbell Church Road, entered into rest Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Abbeville Area Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 30, 1947, in Lincoln County Ga., to the late James Anderson and Willie Bell Turner, Larry worked in construction most of his life as a carpenter.

He was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving other than his wife of 60 years, is a daughter, Angela Turner Smith of Abbeville; his brothers, Douglas Turner and wife Connie, and Vernon Turner and wife Pam; his sister, Brenda Turner McGahee and husband Mack; his grandchildren whom he loved more than life itself, Austin Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, and Joshua Smith. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Wilkes Turner and Lamar Turner.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 10th at 11:00 AM, from the Chandler Chapel of Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Burden officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
