Larry Thomas Dennis

Mr. Larry Thomas "Tommy" Dennis, 65 of Augusta, entered into rest September 10, 2012. The husband of Marlene Bobo Dennis, he was a native of Gordonsville, Virginia and had been a resident of the area for many years. He was a United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Dennis was a public safety officer having served with the Augusta Police Department and retiring from the Richmond County Sheriff's Department with the rank of sergeant. He was a member of the Peace Officers Association of Georgia and of the Lake Park Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Marlene B. Dennis; two daughters: Lynn D. Cobb and husband, Butch of Wrens, and Karen M. Carter and husband, Michael of North Augusta, SC; brothers: Robert H. (Bobby) Dennis, Jr. of Warrenville, SC and William (Bill) Dennis of New Ellenton, SC; a sister, Patricia D. Henderson of Martinez; along with five grandchildren: Paul Cobb, Katelyn Cobb, Evan Cobb, Christopher Carter, and Charlotte Carter.
