Thomson, GA-Mr. Lamar Richards, 71, of Tankersley Road entered into rest April 15, 2015, at his residence.

Mr. Richards was born in Warren County, but lived in McDuffie County most of his life. He was the son of the late Leonard Cody Richards and the late Lucille Thigpen Richards. He retired from Warren County Board of Education as an electrician maintenance supervisor. Mr. Richards was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters, Pam R. Hawkins and husband, Scott; and Paula R. Hunt; brothers, Russell Richards and Johnny Richards; sisters, Joyce R. Hinton, Rosalyn R. Johnson; 5 grandchildren, Brock Hawkins (Bliss), Bryce Hawkins, Ethan Hunt, Evan Hunt, Breanna Hawkins and 3 great grandchildren, Hank Hawkins, Molly Caroline Hawkins and Elyzabeth June Hunt. Mr. Richards was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary June Richards.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock, p.m., Sunday, April 19, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Holbrook officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Warren County, GA. Friends may call at the residence of Pam and Scott Hawkins, 642 Laura Lane, Thomson, GA or the family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., Sunday prior to the service at the church.

It is the family's desire that memorial contributions be made to New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund, 1424 Cobbham Road, Thomson, GA 30824.
