Lamar Brassell Boneville, GA. - Lamar Brassell, 79 of Boneville Road entered into rest February 27, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m, Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Marshall Baptist Church with Rev. John Prater, Rev. Don Reeves and Rev. Phillip Gandy officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Marshall Baptist Men's Sunday School Class. Mr. Brassell was born in Gibson, Georgia and lived in Thomson, Georgia most of his life. He was the son of the late John B. Brassell and the late Rosa Stanley Brassell. Mr. Brassell was a retired driver for Overnite Transportation with over 27 years of service. He was also a member of Marshall Baptist Church and the Thomson Lion's Club. Survivors include his beloved wife, Thelma W. Brassell; daughters, Deborah Lynn Neal and husband, Mike of Gibson, GA, Vicki Montgomery Yates and husband, Tommy of Thomson, GA; step-sons, Charles Smith and wife, Margaret of Killeen, Texas, David Smith and wife, Shirley of Dearing, GA, Terry Smith and wife, Claudia of Boneville, GA; sister, Joann Johnson of Mitchell, GA; grandchildren, Michael Lee Neal, Jr., Lamar "Marty" Montgomery and Patricia Denise Johnston; three great grandchildren and twelve step-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the funeral home.
