Mr. Lawrence O'Neal McClure, 75 of Hwy 220 E., Lincolnton, entered into rest peacefully on Tuesday, April 2 nd at his residence with his family members at his side.
Mr. McClure, son of the late Lawrence and Grace McClure, was a native of Maysville ,Ga.. He served in the U.S. Army for three years following the Korean Conflict. Afterwards, he and his family moved to the Augusta area, where, a few years later, he went to work at Continental Can Co. and retired there as an employee of International Paper Co. Following retirement, he and his wife, Wanda built a home in Lincoln County.
He was a member of West Acres Baptist Church and enjoyed collecting petroliana. His family said, "He was the best husband, father and grandfather that anyone could ever have."

Donna McClure Akins, and husband, Tony of Evans
Sister: Shirley Klein, Gainesville ,Ga.
Grandchildren: April Ellison- March, and husband, Jim; Jake Shelby; Lindsey Akins Martins, and husband, Tiago; Nick Akins, Chad Akins, and Brett Akins,
along with 5 great- grandchildren
A memorial service will be held on Friday , April 5 th at 2 o'clock p.m. at West Acres Baptist Church, Evans, Ga with Rev. Larry Harmon officaitng.
A visitation will will be held in the church sanctuary one hour prior to the service.
