Kenneth D. Simpson Appling, GA- Mr. Kenneth D. Simpson, 70, of Lakeside Drive entered into rest April 1, 2014 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 4, 2014 at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Simpson was a native of Augusta, GA and lived in Appling, GA for many years.He was the son of the late Rufus Simpson and the late Edith Simpson. He served in the U. S. Navy and was retired from International Paper as a project manager. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. Survivors include his beloved wife, Lynne K. Simpson; daughter, Kimberly Simpson; step-son, Kevin Whitener; sister, Laverne Faulk and grandchild, Amelia Whitener. Memorials may be made to the Sharon Baptist Church Building Fund, 6262 Cobbham Rd., Appling, GA 30802. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, GA is in charge of arrangements.
